Samples are analyzed for the detection of genetically modified elements P35S (35S promoter of cauliflower mosaic virus) and TNOS (nopaline synthase terminator of Agrobacterium tumefaciens) which constitute the majority of Genetically Modified varieties in the EU. Due to the presence of P35S and TNOS in many GM plants, they are used to screen for the presence of GM-plant derived components. ● Qualitative methods determine the presence/absence of GMO
We can report on the detection of genetic modification at the Limit of Detection (LOD) which is 0,45%. This analysis is crucial for producers to support the “GMO-free” claims on their product label. This method does not identify the type of genetic manipulation or give a quantitative estimation of how much GMO is present in the sample.
● Quantitative GMO Analysis quantify the extent of genetic modification
The Limit of Quantification (LOQ) is 0,09% and the Limit of Detection (LOD) is 0,045%. This analysis estimates if your product lies above or below the allowed GMO limit.
